Adhan call to prayer is the most beloved call. It reminds
us our meeting with our Allaah. And anyone who hears this call should be in
haste to respond. We will illustrate how to pronounce the call to prayer as
well as the benefits and guidelines to follow before making a call to prayer.

To Pronounce Adhan
Allaahu Akbar, Allaahu Akbar (Allaah is the greatest,
Allaah is the greatest)

Ash-hadu an’ la ilaha ill Allaah, (I bear witness that
there is no God but Allaah)

Muhammad is the messenger of Allaah)

Hayya ‘alas-Solaah, (Rush to prayer)
Hayya ‘alas-Solaah, (Rush to prayer)

1. Reward
For Pronouncing Adhan
Narrated by Abu-Huraira (may Allaah be pleased with him)
that the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “If the
people knew the reward for pronouncing adhan and they found no other way to get
there except by drawing lots, they would draw lots".

2.
Shaitan takes to his heels and passes wind with noise
Narrated by Abu Hurairah (may Allaah be pleased with him)
that the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “When the
Adhan is pronounced Shaitan takes to his heels and passes wind with noise
during his flight in order not to hear the Adhan. When the Adhan is completed
he comes back and again takes to his heels when the Iqama is pronounced and
after its completion he returns again till he whispers into the heart of the
person (to divert his attention from his prayer) and makes him remember things
which he does not recall to his mind before the prayer and that causes him to
forget how much he has prayed"

3. Witness
For The Mu'adhdhin On The Day Of Judgement.
Narrated by Abu Sa'eed Al-Khudri (may Allaah be pleased
with him) that the Messenger of Allaah (peace abd blessings be upon him) said:
Whoever hears the Adhan, whether a human being, a jinn or
any other creature, will be a witness for him (the Mu’adhdhin) on the Day of
Judgement.”

4. While
The Adhan Is Being Called, One Should Listen Attentively And Repeat Every Line
Silently After The Mu'adhdhin
Narrated by Hisham (may Allaah be pleased with him) that
the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings be upon him) said" "When
Azan is pronounced, Repeat each statement what the Mu’aththin says, except for
when he says:
Hayya ‘alas-Solaah (hasten to the prayer).
Hayya ‘alal-Falaah (hasten to salvation).
Here
you should say:
Laa hawla wa laa quwwata ‘illaa billaah (There is no might and no power except by Allaah)

5. Invoke
Blessings To The Prophet (Peace And Blessings Be Upon Him)
Narrated by Abdullah b. Amr bin al-‘As (may Allaah be
pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings be upon
him) said: When you hear the Mu'adhdhin, repeat what he says, then invoke a
blessing on me, for everyone who invokes a blessing on me will receive ten
blessings from Allaah; then beg from Allaah al-Wasilah for me, which is a rank
in Paradise fitting for only one of the servants of Allaah, and I hope that I
may be that one. If anyone who asks that I be given the Wasilah, he will be
assured of my intercession.

The text of As-Salawat Al-Ibrahimiah is:
[Allaahumma salli alaa Muhammadin wa alaa aali
Muhammadin, kamaa sallayta alaa Ibraaheema wa alaa aali Ibraaheema innaka
Hameedun Majeed. Allahumma Baarik alaa Muhammadin wa alaa aali Mohammadin kamaa
baarakta alaa Ibraaheema wa alaa aali Ibraaheema innaka Hameedun Majeed.]
[O Allaah bestow your favor on Muhammad and on the family
of Muhammad as You have bestowed Your favor on Ibrahim and on the family of
Ibrahim, You are Praiseworthy, Most Glorious. O Allaah, bless Muhammad and the
family of Mohammad as You have blessed Ibrahim and the family of Ibrahim, You are
Praiseworthy, Most Glorious].

6.
After The Adhan, It Is Recommended To Say The Following Dua (Supplication)
Narrated by Jaber Ibn Abdullah (may Allaah be pleased
with him) that the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings be upon him)
said:.whoever after listening to adhan says :Allahumma rabba
hadhihi-d-da‘awati-t-tammati wa-s-Salati-l-qa’imati, ati Muhammadan il-wasilata
wa-l-fadilata wa-b‘ath-hu maqamam mahmudan illadhi wa‘adtahu.
O Allaah Lord of this most perfect call, and of the
Prayer that is about to be established, grant to Muhammad the favor of nearness
(to You) and excellence and a place of distinction, and exalt him to a position
of glory that You have promised him. Then intercession for me will be permitted
for him on the Day of Resurrection".

7.
The Hearer Should Say After Hearing Adhan
Narrated by Sa'd bin Abu Waqqas (May Allaah be pleased
with him) that the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings be upon him) said,
"He who says after the Adhan: 'Ash-hadu an la ilaha illallah Wah-dahu la
sharika Lahu; wa ash-hadu anna Muhammadan 'abduhu wa Rasuluhu, radhitu Billahi
Rabban, wa bi Muhammadin Rasulan, wa bil Islami Dinan.
[I testify that there is no true god except Allaah Alone;
He has no partners and that Muhammad (pbuh) is His slave and Messenger; I am content
with Allaah as my Lord, with Muhammad as my Messenger and with Islam as my
religion" his sins will be forgiven.

8. Make
Dua To Allaah In Between The Adhan And Iqamaah
Narrated by 'Anas bin Malik (may Allaah be pleased with
him) that the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings be upon him) said,
"The supplication made between the adhan and the iqamah will not be
rejected."
[Sunan at-Tirmidhi]
9. Make
A Petition After The Call Of Adhan
Narrated by Abdullah bin Amr bin Al Aas (may Allaah be
pleased with him) that A man said: Messenger of Allaah, the mu'adhdhins excel
us. The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Say (the
same words) as they say, and when you come to the end, make a petition and that
will be granted to you.
