Time is running fast, breath
is losing time a just little deed is left at hand while the UNLIT DOOM is knocking at
the door.
Allah’s Messenger (peace be
upon him) said:
“Do good deeds properly,
sincerely an moderately and how that your deeds will not make you enter
paradise and that the most beloved deed to Allah is the most regular and
constant even if it were little”.
Once a deed is beloved to
Allah, exalted then it is weighed on the scale.
Do you have any good deeds
(voluntary) that you are consistent with every day?
Know! The messenger of Allah
(peace be upon him) said:
“Your Lord is merciful. Whoever
intended to do good but did not do it, one good deed was recorded for him, and
he who intended to do good and also did it (between) ten to seven hundred good
deeds were recorded for him and whoever intended evil against him. And whoever intended evil, but did not commit it, one good deed recorded it against
him, but if he committed that, it was recorded as one against him or Allah
blots it, whoever is destroyed (afterwards by Allah) is perished. (Bukhari and
Muslim).
Or do you know how
excellence glorification and remembrance of Allah is to you?
“Verily in the remembrance
of Allah do hearts find rest” the glorious Qur’an says:
Profusely remembering Allah,
saying SubhanaAllah, Alhamdulillah, La’ilahaa-illah, Astagfirullah makes a
servant beloved and draws him closer to Allah, and who ever love Allah he
increases in his remembrance.
The Prophet (peace be upon
him) said:
“shouldn’t I inform you of
the best of your deeds and the purest with your owner, the one that raises your
status the most and which is better for you than spending gold and silver (in
charity), better for you that you meet your enemies and strike their neck and
they strike yours”. The (the companions) said “yes”. The Prophet (peace be upon
him) said: “remembrance of Allah.” (Ahmad)
When the scale is heavy with
righteous deeds, the slave prospers and succeeds. As the Prophet said:
“Cleanliness is half of
faith and Alhamdulillah (praise be to Allah) fills the scale, and subhanallah
(glory be to Allah) and Alhamdulillah (praise be to Allah) fill up what is
between the heavens and the earth’s”. (Muslim)
From a story of a man who is
constantly indulge on a certain ibadah (Dhikir).
“From the life of Imam Ahmad
Ibn Hambal”
During his old age (Imam
Ahmad) while he was traveling, he stopped by a town to have rest and passed
his night. After salatul isha’I, owing to his humility (Imam Ahmad) wanted to
stay for the night in the masjid (mosque), not introducing himself to anyone,
to his humility not be welcomed by many people.
Unrecognizing Imam Ahmad,
the caretaker of the majid sens him out of the masjid and even dragged him out
of the masjid’s yard. On seeing the baker from a nearby place opposite of the
masjid felt pity for him and offered to host him for the night.
During his stay with the
baker, Imam Hambal observed that the baker would constantly recite istighfar
(seeking Allah’s forgiveness) then Imam Hamad ask the baker if the constant
practice of this Ibadaah (dhikr Istigfar) had any effect for him. The baker
responded by saying “for there is supplication I do to Allah but is accepted
except one.”
Then Imam Hamad asked him
what dua was it hadn’t been accepted? The baker replied I have been asking
Allah to provide with the privilege to meet the famous scholar Iman Hamad bin
Ambal.
On this Imam Hammad said: “Allah
had not listened to your dua only but He accepted it and drag Ahmad bin Hambal
to your doorstep. I am Ahmad bin Hambal”. The old famous theologian said.
This is the significant and the perfection of constant ibadah.
