Kyrie Andrew Irving is an American professional basketball player for the Brooklyn Nets of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He was named the Rookie of the Year after being selected by the Cleveland Cavaliers with the first overall pick in the 2011 NBA draft. 

A seven-time All-Star and two-time member of the All-NBA Team, he won an NBA championship with the Cavaliers in 2016.

Kyrie is now a Muslim and he's now practicing Islam by fasting in the Holy month of Ramadan where Muslims fast every day for one month. 

Fasting of course means no food, no water until a certain time which in return can make you weak. Check out a video from Stephen A Smith of ESPN calling out Kyrie Irving not knowing Kyrie is fasting for his new religion.

Kyrie has not publicly claimed he has changed his name.  Although, it is not obligatory for a new Muslim to take or add an Arabic name but should not carry the name that goes against Islam.
